Today, more than half of the world’s population resides in cities. This figure is expected to continue increasing, reaching 75% by 2050.
As the number of megacities across the globe increases, urban planning is redirecting its focus back towards people’s needs in an attempt to boost quality of life.
The strain to accommodate all the needs required for humans to flourish in an urban setting forces many to offer innovative solutions for the problems we encounter on a daily basis.
SAIC will be holding a student competition on 13th, 14th and 15th February 2019 to share ideas and evolve concepts.
Consider the following in regards to the next 3 to 5 years:
Presence of 5G connectivity – 5G is expected to be 100 times faster than 4G, allowing devices to send and receive large amounts of data instantaneously, making IoT ready for scaled application
