We are looking for enthusiastic students who want to be involved in innovating new and exciting solutions in the Automotive industry

SAIC Motor UK is looking for driven and passionate students from UK universities to participate in a three-day innovation competition we’ve named ‘SAICOLOGY’.

At SAICOLOGY you can collaborate with fellow students, and work alongside business and automotive experts to understand how digital trends such as blockchain, connectivity, internet of things, augmented reality and artificial intelligence can be exploited within the automotive domain.

Successful candidates will work in teams of three with the aim to produce great business models, prototypes and an innovative marketing pitch.

The automotive sector is developing faster than ever, with new mobility concepts, ideas and businesses appearing on a daily basis.

SAIC Motor are looking to work with innovative and motivated people to develop new mobility business models for our customers.

Today, more than half of the world’s population resides in cities. This figure is expected to continue increasing, reaching 75% by 2050.

As the number of megacities across the globe increases, urban planning is redirecting its focus back towards people’s needs in an attempt to boost quality of life.

The strain to accommodate all the needs required for humans to flourish in an urban setting forces many to offer innovative solutions for the problems we encounter on a daily basis.


SAIC will be holding a student competition on 13th, 14th and 15th February 2019 to share ideas and evolve concepts.

Consider the following in regards to the next 3 to 5 years:

  • Presence of 5G connectivity – 5G is expected to be 100 times faster than 4G, allowing devices to send and receive large amounts of data instantaneously, making IoT ready for scaled application

  • The interplay between modern information and communication technologies allows cities to become smart cities

  • Life in megacities has moved into the 3D

We invite innovators from backgrounds of business studies, engineering and technology, software development and creative marketing. Each innovator will form a part of a team which will include a mixture of all skills mentioned above.

The aim is to come up with an innovative solution and business case on how digital trends such as blockchain, connectivity, internet of things, augmented reality and artificial intelligence can be used to create innovative and exciting customer experiences within the automotive domain.

Each team is expected to produce an engineering proof of concept, a business plan and a marketing pitch.
